Take your film's pitch to a whole new level.

The DOC BC Professional Development Committee is excited to introduce a unique opportunity  to strengthen your documentary pitching skills under the guidance of the esteemed RUDY BUTTIGNOL.

On Aug 9th, at W2 Storyeum, 151 West Cordova, Vancouver, starting at 6 PM, Rudy will join us in an interactive session to analyze and workshop project pitches. With the focus being on how to strengthen demos and improve oral presentations, this will be a valuable experience for participants and observers alike. Anyone is welcome to observe or watch online.

Rudy Buttignol is the President and CEO of Knowledge Network Corporation. Since his appointment in 2007, he has transformed and re-branded British Columbia’s public broadcaster as a 24/7, multiplatform digital service, with increased audience share, viewership and revenues.

Buttignol also continues as a tutor at Munich’s Documentary Master School, and moderates financing forums in Amsterdam and Leipzig. In 2009 he founded the Storyville Forum with the Vancouver International Film Festival. He is the recipient of several international honours including the inaugural Doc Mogul Award from the Hot Docs international festival, and nine Gemini (Canadian Academy) Awards.

Currently, Buttignol serves as Chair of the International Advisory Council of the Toronto Documentary Forum; Vice-Chair of the Association of Education Broadcasters of Canada; and a member of the Board of Directors of the Vancouver International Film Festival, Board of Governors of the Canadian Conference for the Arts, and the advisory council of the European Television and Media Management Academy in Strasbourg. Buttignol was founding Chair of the Documentary Organization of Canada and founder of the Toronto Documentary Forum.

Our workshop should help filmmakers to better prepare for the Storyville, which will take place during the Forum at the Vancouver International Film Festival on September 28th. Its aim is to stimulate the co-financing and co-production of the creative, feature length documentary by developing long-term strategic relationships with international broadcasters and potential co-producers, and enhancing the development of viable projects.

Don’t miss out on this exceptional opportunity to hone your pitch and stand out at Vancouver’s Storyville 2010 http://www.viff.org/forum/storyville/
